MAX Transit Fares

MAX Transit operates both an hourly fixed bus route along with a reserve ride service. Each service has unique fares for qualifying individuals. If you have any questions on pricing, please contact our Customer Service team at (616)355-1010.

Macatawa Area Express App

MAX accepts electronic fare payments for Reserve-A-MAX by prepaying with your credit card using our scheduling app, Macatawa Area Express. Riders can also pay cash or load credit onto their rider account through our Customer Service team.

The Macatawa Area Express app is available for download on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Token Transit

Token Transit is an electronic fare payment app for fixed routes. Users can purchase their fare, activate it and then board the bus!

Available for download on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

All purchases are final. MAX does not offer refunds.

Fares must be paid at time of boarding.

Note!

To receive reduced fares, individuals must qualify for the ADA program or the Half Fare program. Passengers must undergo a free application process provided by MAX to determine eligibility.

Individuals with disabilities who cannot complete all trips independently on the fixed routes are encouraged to apply for ADA.

The Half Fare program is designed for seniors, youth, Medicare cardholders and individuals with disabilities who can travel independently on the fixed routes. To request an application, please contact Customer Service at (616)355-1010. Thank you!

Electronic Fare Payment Options

MAX accepts both cash and electronic fare payment. Electronic bus passes and credit bundles are an economical and convenient way to pay your bus fare.

Token Transit is available to help manage electronic fares for fixed route passes.

The Macatawa Area Express app is available to help schedule and manage trips, and pay for credit bundles.

All fares are non-transferrable and are NOT replaceable if lost or stolen.
